Our Story
Da Roots Traditional Midwifery Program is dedicated to preserving and passing on the traditions and science of midwifery. Our program is rooted in the belief that every family has the right to a safe, empowering, and respectful childbirth experience. We aim to uphold the values of compassion, cultural sensitivity, and holistic care in our training and support services.
Da Roots Traditional Midwifery program was created because the roots of any good midwife are the shoulders she stands on, the knowledge she holds, and the knowledge she passes on. It so important for us to share our knowledge and insight from the shoulders we have stood on. Midwifery training needs to be accessible to anyone who wants to be a midwife. Midwifery training has become less and less affordable to many people.
Da Roots traditional midwife course offers a two year didactic training for people who are ready to study midwifery. This training is for anyone at any stage of their midwifery journey. It is also good for stay at home moms, like I was at one point, who want to get started with the book work of midwifery but, aren't quite ready for an apprenticeship.
Da Roots traditional midwife course is designed to meet each learner where they are. A midwife told me a long time ago that we learn in layers just like an onion. I find that to be forever true.
I am so excited you have found our program! If you want or need more information feel free to use our contact us page.
